About Dublin

Dublin is a compact, walkable UNESCO City of Literature situated on Dublin Bay along Ireland's east coast. The River Liffey divides the city into the gentler Southside and the brash Northside, creating distinct character on either side of the water. Renowned for its rich literary tradition, spirited pub culture, and humorous locals, the city balances historic Georgian squares and ancient cathedrals with modern urban developments. Visitors frequently explore major attractions like Trinity College, Phoenix Park, and the Guinness Storehouse, alongside the lively cobbles and nightlife of Temple Bar.

When to go

Dublin is at its best for work, music, pubs and a friendly weekend extension.

Summer from June to August brings Dublin's warmest weather with long daylight hours and peak crowds for summer events like Bloomsday on June 16. The shoulder season of September to October sees crowds thin out, lower room rates, and pleasant temperatures averaging around 15–18°C. Spring warms up gradually and features the massive St Patrick’s Day Festival on March 17. Winter is cold and damp, but it offers the cheapest hotel rates and the chance to enjoy cozy pubs near Grafton Street or festive events like the Dublin Castle Christmas Market.
