About Bali

Bali is a volcanic island in Indonesia located between Java and Lombok, celebrated as Southeast Asia's only predominantly Hindu society. The island's diverse landscape ranges from dramatic coastlines to major volcanoes like Mount Batur and Mount Agung, alongside the terraced rice fields of Jatiluwih. Known for its rich spiritual traditions, Bali features thousands of Hindu temples, daily rituals, and traditional dance performances. Visitors flock to Ubud to experience the island's artistic and cultural heartland, while coastal areas such as Seminyak offer stylish beach spots. Surfers frequently travel to the island between April to October when offshore winds generate consistent waves along the southwest coast.

When to go

Bali is at its best in the dry season for villas, beaches and rice terraces.

Bali's dry season runs from April to October, offering warm temperatures between 28°C and 32°C that are ideal for outdoor activities, surfing, and hiking. Peak crowds and high prices for flights arrive in July and August, as well as over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Shoulder months like September provide mostly dry, sunny weather with fewer tourists. During the rainy season from November to March, budget travelers can secure lower rates and enjoy indoor cultural spots in cultural hubs like Ubud. Key annual events include the Bali Arts Festival from June to mid-July, the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival in October, and the Silent Day of Nyepi in March.
